For the past three years, I’ve been turning to facials that are more natural, or even 100% natural and mostly certified organic. I often hear that natural skin care is not effective against aging. I don’t think it is true, I think that natural ingredients are the most effective! On the other hand, I’m convinced that their beneficial properties for the skin can be doubled by combining them with scientifically created ingredients such as retinol, stabilized vitamin C, co-enzyme Q10 or ceramides.
Therefore, I was extremely curious to test an English clean skincare brand that creates facials with very clean, yet, not 100% natural composition. It is the English clean skincare brand Facetheory. Facetheory combines natural ingredients such as oils or plant extracts with chemically created ingredients such as retinol or ceramides.
About English clean skincare brand Facetheory
Facetheory it is all about perfect combination of nature and science. This English brand was created recently in Sheffield, UK. And they just started to sell their clean skincare in France, to my great delight! For your information, the brand delivers its facials in 40 other countries around the world. The prices are quite affordable, even very affordable for such quality, I find. Moreover, if you opt for a pre-composed box, you have a 20% discount. It is even more interesting than buying individually sold products. Moreover, I recommend to have the complete skincare routine from the same brand for the best results.

What contain Facetheory skincare products ?
The composition, or INCI list is just great, it is a clean skincare brand : healthy for you and good for the planet. Their cosmetics are free of controversial ingredients (no parabens, silicones, PEGS, mineral oils or polluting microbeads).
About Facetheory sustainable packaging
All their packaging is sustainable and recyclable. The jars are made of amber glass with aluminium caps, the tubes for creams are also made of aluminium. In addition to being sustainable, their design is very beautiful! The amber glass jars reminds me of the medicine containers at the apothecaries a long time ago.
There is another point that I would like to mention, all Facetheory skincare is vegan certified, it’s Cruelty Free cosmetics.

English clean skincare brand Facetheory has a great return policy! It is a really wonderful compared to French return policies, which are often quite regide. The brand accepts all returns of skincare that didn’t bring visible promised by brand results. Returns are possible within a period of 365 days. Beyond this period, they will not be able to offer you a refund or exchange. But still, I find their return policy very interesting and very initiative for trying their products!
About Facetheory facial sets
On the brand’s store you can chose single products or precomposed set for different skin concerns.
I have chose a set because it is less expensive and also, it is easier for the first time to take a complete routine than to choose by yourself. So I choose a Rejuvenating Skincare Gift Set that contains four facials.
- Clarifying Cleanser
- Cera-C Pore Reducing Toner
- Ceraquench Repair Cream
- Pink Clay Face Mask
These facial treatments are adapted to different skin types: dry, dehydrated, but also combined and oily skin. Also suitable for women between 25 and 50 years old. These products have a curing effect for a beautiful and healthy skin.
You can order the treatments with or without fragrance, it is an option that you can choose when you buy on their site. There is an option for unscented product which is often available on the product page. The odourless products (which I chose) smell more like medicine, but the smell is quite pleasant 🙂
Clarifying Cleanser C2 from Facetheory
This skincare treatment is suitable for all skin types but the effect will be visible mostly on combination to oily and shiny skin. Its main action is the regulation of sebum production and the attenuation of post-acne spots and red zones.
The clarifying cleansing contains glycolic acid (4%), salicylic acid (2%) and lactic acid (1%). These acids exfoliate the skin well, making it soft and more radiant.
Avocado oil contains antioxidants and provides anti-aging and moisturizing effect. Sweet almond oil repairs the skin and makes it soft and nourished.

I use this treatment in the morning and in the evening. I apply a small amount to the slightly wet face, massage for 40 seconds and rinse well. The first time, I felt a little tingling on the skin. This is probably the effect of the different acids that are used in the treatment. It might tingle a little if you have had recent acne and you have mini-scratches on your face. But it will pass when you rinse with water.
Cera-C Pore Reducing Toner
It is a toner and is suitable for all skin types. It refines and reduces enlarged pores, regulates the production of sebum and makes the skin less shiny. This toner also moisturizes very well.
In its composition you will find 5% of niacinamide or vitamin B3 and ceramides to provide the reduction of pore size effect. The ceramides maintain the skin’s hydration. Ceramides are naturally contained in your skin but they begin to be less present with age.

The panthenol also helps to moisture the skin. The vitamin C helps to reduce acne. The sodium lactate moisturizes skin. And the aloe vera and the vitamin E soothe the skin.
I really love the texture of this toner, it penetrates well and leaves the skin well hydrated and soft. The smell is very light and rather medical. I use this lotion in the morning and in the evening after cleansing my skin with Facetheory Cleanser.
Ceraquench Repair Cream
It is suitable for all skin types, but especially for dry and dehydrated skin, as well as mature skin. Its main action is to moisturize and repair damaged skin.

The repair cream contains ceramides to improve skin elasticity. Several certified organic oils to nourish and moisturize the skin: jojoba, rosehip and argan. It contains stabilized retinol and coenzyme Q10 against the signs of aging. For an anti-oxidant action, you will find stabilized vitamin C, ferulic acid and vitamin E. The brand promise is a microwrinkles decrease after 30 days of use !

The texture of this cream is incredible: very creamy yet light and easy to rub-in, it penetrates in 10 minutes and leaves the skin very comfortable and super-moisturized! It has no particular smell. I use it in the morning and in the evening after applying the pore-reducing Cera-C Pore Reducing Toner.
Pink Clay Face Mask
Clay is used in beauty care to purify the skin and to cleanse and remove impurities. This is the first time I’ve tried a pink clay, called French Clay as well. Facetheory uses a clay of a very good quality, non nano.

There are organic jojoba and argan oils added to the facial for a better nutrition. The mask contains crushed walnut shells for skin exfoliation. These crushed walnut shells are very small, I hardly felt them, which is a good point for a sensitive skin like mine !

Clay masks usually dry quickly on the face and tear skin horribly. Not this one! You can leave it on for a 20 minutes, it won’t dry like the others. It will stay nice and soft and smooth on the skin! I use it twice a week and leave it on for 10 minutes to purify my skin. The skin looks instantly clearer and whiter.
What do I think about English clean skincare brand Facetheory after three weeks of use ?
Facetheory keeps its promises – after 4 weeks, my skin has become really beautiful. I can now leave the house without any foundation cream!
- My skin is cleaner: there are no more blackheads on my skin.
- The complexion is more homogeneous, red areas and post-acne traces are desceased.
- My skin doesn’t shine anymore. The production of sebum is regulated thanks to these treatments.
- My skin is super moisturized and comfortable without being oily, it’s so smooth and soft!
The set that I tried costs 49,99£. If you are convinced by Facetheory facials, I give you a discount code for -20% off the whole site : BBQNR4D6 (till the 11th of November 2021)
