Those who read my blog regularly, know that a few months ago I tested a Korean beauty brand with quite luxury skincare products. Nevertheless, I was a bit disappointed by their products because I found in the INCI list some ingredients that I prefer to not use for my skincare routine (ingredients that can cause allergic reactions or acné). In my case, this cosmetic caused an acne flare-up that I treated for 1 month. Fortunately, there are products to treat severe acne in my case, for exemple, Dr. Hauschka’s skincare products, as well as Whamisa, a recently discovered by me Korean skincare routine.

Few words about Korean organic brand Whamisa
Whamisa comes from Korea. I thought that Korean skincare brands often make products with not very clean composition, and was really surprised when I discovered natural and organic skincare products from Whamisa. “Whamisa” means “flower – beauty – 4”, number 4 includes 4 vegetal elements used in its cosmetics: flowers, seeds, roots and fruits.
Another interesting thing to mention about this brand : they use fermented ingredients in the skincare. What is it exactly and why is it good? Fermentation is an ancient technique in preparation of skincare products, very widespread in Asia (China, Korea, Japan). It preserves ingredients (it’s a kind of conservation) thanks to the acidification of the surrounding environment. In an acid environment, microbes and bacteria cannot live. This technique allows to clean and sanitize the skin thanks to its acidic pH. It also helps the skin to better absorb the skincare products. During the fermentation process, there is a lactic acid that is produced and it boosts the cellular renewal.
I was surprised when analyzed the INCI composition of the products – they do not contain water at all ! And that’s something I’ve rarely seen in skincare. This means that you don’t pay for water but only for the active ingredients. Here are some of the ingredients often used in Whamisa products:
- Aloe Vera replaces water in skincare products from Whamisa. It’s known for its healing and soothing benefits.
- Chrysanthemum slows down skin ageing, soothes and preserves the skin’s natural elasticity.
- Lotus Flower procures decongesting, purifying and soothing properties.
My review of Whamisa korean skincare routine
I started with three products from Whamisa, but at the time when I write this article, I’ve tried some more skincare from this brand. I can tell you straight away that this is one of my favourite brands !
Whamisa Organic Flowers Toner Original Review
This hydrating toner is enriched with chrysanthemum and rice extracts as well as galactomyces. Cucumber and broccoli extracts also help to soothe and prepare your skin for moisturisers. Aloe extract replaces water for lasting hydration.Whamisa
I use organic flower toner in the morning and in the evening after removing make-up and cleaning my skin. I apply a small amount to my face with my fingers and let it dry for a few minutes before applying Whamisa Sebum Regulating Serum.
Organic Flowers Sebum Treatment
This treatment targets excess sebum production. Key ingredients include tea leaf and apple extracts. Gently refreshes, cleanses and brightens your skin. Camellia and dandelion ferments help to soothe and rebalance skin while reducing inflammations.Whamisa
I apply this serum in the morning and in the evening after the organic flower toner original. It is absorbed by the skin in 2-3 minutes and does not leave an oily finish. After use, you have perfectly moisturized skin and the post acné spots are less visible ! The serum has a rather subtle scent and smells like fresh herbs.
Whamisa Organic Flowers Eye Essence
This organic eye essence includes adenosine to rejuvenate and lift, licorice root and bisabolol to brighten, and murumuru butter to nourish. Helps fill in fine lines, firm up and banish bags and dark circles.Whamisa
The last step in my morning and evening beauty skin routine is the application of an eye contour cream (complete article on Whamisa eye cream). The effects I am looking for are the hydration, anti-wrinkle and anti-puffiness. And I can tell you that this cream is effective against wrinkles, against puffiness and it moisturizes the eye contour superbly well. In addition, it is quickly absorbed by the skin and does not leave an oily finish, which is very appreciated for the evening skin routine ! You can read here my article about the INCI composition of the Whamisa eye contour cream and my review.
What I think about the Korean skincare routine by Whamisa
I was bluffed by the quality and efficiency of these products! They suited my sensitive skin perfectly. Moreover, it is said that the fermentation technique is particularly recommended for sensitive skin.
After 4 weeks of use my skin is much clearer, cleaner, I have no more acne at all, even during menstruation (never seen before such effect, maybe only with Dr Hauschka skin routine!). My skin is no longer shiny, even in summer while it is really hot outside, it remains perfectly moisturized and smooth. These products make the skin very beautiful, with fresh colours. I have even started to use BB creams with a light coverage, as I have no longer have acné to hide. I recommend Whamisa’s products to all skin types.
